Why do Sapphires come in so many colors?
Sapphire in it’s purist state will grow colorless. Different colors
occur due to trace elements found in the ground while the crystal is
growing.

What is the difference between a synthetic and a simulant?
A synthetic is chemically and optically the same as a natural stone
though it is created in a laboratory. A simulant is any stone that
appears similar in look or color to a natural gemstone.

Why do diamonds cost so much?
To mine a 1 carat rough diamond which will later be cut into a half
or three quarter carat diamond 250 tons of ground must be removed.
